Smack dab between OKC and Tulsa, Oklahoma's maiden mudder at White Lightning Ranch is sure to bring the thunder. With a terrain as diverse and varied as the Native American tribes that once inhabited it, you're going to need your team to reach the finish line in Okemah - one of Tough Mudder's most epic new courses.
Just like in a sports stadium, Tough Mudder spectators and fans energize our Mudders-- that’s why we offer discounted tickets for spectators who register before event day. Encourage Mudders as they muster the courage to run through 10,000 volts of electricity at Electroshock Therapy. Explore and enjoy our action-packed base area featuring music, refreshments, sponsor activations and, for the first time in 2015, exclusive Mudder Village obstacles for both participants and spectators to try out. This year, being a spectator at Tough Mudder is now nearly as exciting as running one.
Spectator registration is available online for $20 until Friday at midnight before event weekend. If you miss the online registration deadline, spectator tickets will be sold for $25 on site.

The 5th Annual Mud, Sweat, & Tears Adventure Race
The adventure race was a blast. We finished in 4 hours for Team SmithFit. We hit 18 checkpoints, we ran over 9 miles up and down the terrain of Turkey Mountain. We also biked over 12 miles all over the same area. Right from the start Shaun had to get into a pool to hit the 1st checkpoint. After Running 4 miles and finding 5 checkpoints we shot marbles through a sling shot at a small target 30' away. We had 5 shots because we hit 5 checkpoints, I hit the target twice. Before getting on the bike, we had to complete a zip line. We biked for 12 miles hitting more checkpoints. Then we ran another 5 miles finding more checkpoints to finish the race. Another fun and challenging test of strength and endurance.

McNellies Pub Run

Tomorrow at 3pm I will be running a different type of race. My friends Adam, Matt, & I are running with a keg for this race. This one is more for fun than competitive. A special category for those runners who would like to drink their beer during the race. Guinness Challenge participants will have to FINISH three 12ounce Guinness pints during the 4 mile run; one at each water stop (at about mile marker 1.5 and 3) and one at the finish line. Should be fun!

Adventure Race Results

After a quick meeting the race started out with a 3 legged race and then we got on the bikes. We headed north on Riverside to the pedestrian bridge. We got into canoes on the Arkansas river on the west bank. I got into the front of the canoe and Keagan got in the back and we flipped the canoe. We were wet from the start of the race. We canoed 2.5 miles and got 5 checkpoints on the river. We got back on the bikes and went to west Tulsa before going downtown to Lee's bicycles. Next checkpoint was at Ascent on 15th and Peoria. We went back to the start at 41st and Riverside to do a 15 word cross word puzzle. At this point Keagan and I are in 6th place overall. We had to go south to 71st and then over the river into Turkey Mountain. We had to go to the top of the yellow trail. At some point on that trail ride Keagan does a flip on his bike and knocked himself out. We continued to Pepsi lake, Keagan felt dizzy and sick the whole time. The 4 miles of trail running turned into just finishing. We finished the race but, by this point all that mattered was that Keagan was alright. He ended up with a terrible headache. I had a blast overall and think we had a chance of placing if the accident didn't happen. These races can be very dangerous and I'm just grateful we can do it again next year. Our finish time was around 4 1/2 hours.

My friend Keagan and I will be racing as a team this Saturday. Keagan and I have done a few of these and always have a great time. We came in 4th place last year in this race.
Saturday September 18, 2010 - 5:30 A.M. - Westside YMCA Tulsa OK
Tatur & Bicycles of Tulsa present two fantastic adventure races. First is a 3-5 hour AR that involves trail running & mountain biking in the lush Turkey Mountain wilderness area, team problem solving and canoeing in the Arkansas River. Suited for beginners with no orienteering skills needed. New for 2010 is the eight hour Full Navigation Race which will include all the features of the sprint race, but will also include map and compass reading in order to find check points.

Adventure Race 3:39:04

What a great race day, cool and rainy. We ended up running a 5 mile trail run. Then we went into the YMCA and did some skill work like 50 jump ropes, 10 push-ups, crab walk across gym, and some other crazy stuff. Keegan shoot a basketball and rode a tricycle. Then we hopped on our bikes and rode back through Turkey Mountain. Then we took the River Trail down to 21st area. We got into canoes and paddled 3 miles on the River. We then had to complete a word puzzle. We finished biking back to Turkey. I flipped my bike on a 2 1/2 foot drop off. No injuries. We had to find 23 check points along the way. Keegan and I now have 2 adventure races under our belts.
