Chad you're a great athlete and I applaud you on your performance. Aside from the fact that you're an exceptional athlete that posted great times I wanted to make an observation. I was disappointed by the way you acted during the first WOD. Your enthusiasm seemed to be motivated by your sense of ego. I say that due to your desire to place your finger in the air during the work out insinuating you won. I'm sorry to say that regardless of your talent and hard work I lost some respect for you. Congrats on qualifying and I hope you sort out your lack of showmanship and show more respect for the community in the future.
What is wrong with getting excited and showing a little personality in an amazing competition?? I personally loved the show u put on Chad. The comment on not showing sportsmanship couldn't be farther from the truth! I personally was a competitor and Chad was the first one to run up and tell me great job and cheer me on. U bring so much to crossfit Chad. There is no need to listen to haters that probably have never even met u! Congrats! Can't wait to watch u in regionals!
I was also a competitor and had the chance to watch Chad perform WOD #1. I can tell you that, from my vantage point, it appeared Chad was giving it everything he had. The crowd was screaming for him and he was simply feeding off that energy. If a finger in the air is the worst of our sins, I think we will all be okay. But those are just one competitor's thoughts...
Chad I’m sorry if you found my comments offensive because they were exclusively meant to be constructive criticism. Like I stated previously I congratulate you and hope you continue to do well as an exceptional athlete. However, being an exceptional athlete comes with a price and that price amongst other things happens to be humility, community, and showmanship/sportsmanship. While I feel you displayed some of these values I do think a man of your stature could do a better job. I want you to know I’ll be rooting for you in the future and hope you don’t take these comments as “hating” on your accomplishments.

ReplyDeleteI think Chad was just feeding off the crowd and showed great spirit!
ReplyDeleteI was really pointing and asking which direction the door was, because I needed to go puke.
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with showing heart in a competition of that magnatude!
