NBC and Esquire Network have teamed again to bring the heart-racing competition series, American Ninja Warrior, with hosts Matt Iseman, former NFL player Akbar Gbaja Biamila, and co-host Jenn Brown. The action-packed series follows competitors as they tackle the world’s most difficult obstacle courses in qualifying and finals rounds in Los Angeles, Baltimore, Denver and Miami, with the national finals round in Las Vegas, on a four-stage course modeled after the famed Mt. Midoriyama.

DATES AND LOCATIONS FOR QUALIFYING ROUNDS AND FINALS

Regional Qualifying Rounds for American Ninja Warrior (the “Program”) will be held at one or more United States locations.  Applicants will be assigned a region which may be based on their state of residence, provided that Producer reserves the right to assign applicants to compete at a location different or in a different Regional Qualifying Round from his/her region of residence, in Producer’s discretion.

Sunday, June 17: 9 p.m.-11 p.m. ET on G4 – Midsouth Regional (also called South-Central)

In a clever structure designed to cross-pollinate viewership between the niche G4 channel and the mainstream network NBC, American Ninja Warrior 4 will show the “opening round” of a given regional competition on Sunday night for 2 hours on G4, and then the next night (Monday) will show the finals of that region on NBC.

Things to remember: 6 regional competitions held in 3 cities (2 regionals in Venice, 2 in Dallas, 2 in Miami). Each regional competition had an “opening round” with about 150 competitors (to be shown on G4) where the top 30 advanced to the regional finals (to be shown on NBC the next night). The top 15 competitors from each regional final advanced to the finals in Las Vegas on the new uber-course built there (6*15 regional finals means 90 competitors, plus 10 “wild-cards”, to equate to a tidy 100 finalists in Vegas).

th region preliminary round (which airs on G4) take on an even more challenging course that includes nine obstacles to compete for the chance to move into the national finals, which will take place in Las Vegas, NV. Comedian Matt Iseman and Olympic Gold Medalist Jonny Moseley host the heart-racing competition series and Angela Sun ("Yahoo! Sports Minute") reports from the sidelines. This week, competitors must tackle obstacles that include a Bridge of Blades, Jumping Bars and a Curtain Swing in their quest for the $500,000 cash prize and a chance to win the coveted title "American Ninja Warrior."

G4's American Ninja Warrior returns 9-11 p.m. Monday, May 21 2012 before airing in its normal 9 p.m. slot beginning May 28. The series premieres on G4 from 9-11 p.m. Sunday, May 20.

For the first time ever, this year's entire competition will take place on U.S. soil. Through G4's partnership with Japanese broadcaster, TBS, the ultimate obstacle course will come to Las Vegas, NV where the top 100 regional finalists will attempt to conquer all four stages and earn the coveted title of American Ninja Warrior and a $500,000 prize.
