Dynamic vs Static
The right stretch at the right time can make all the difference in the quality of your WODs. Dynamic stretching is best done before a WOD to warm-up. This type of stretching involves speed of movement, momentum and active muscular effort. Examples of dynamic stretches include high kicks, Supermans, arm circles, arm swings, lunges, and power skips. Static stretching, the kind you reach and hold for 20 seconds should be saved till post WOD. Because when your muscles are warmed up and less resistant to stretching. This is also a great way to cool down. Incorporate both kinds of stretches into your training, but be sure to do each at the right time.
Warm-up = Dynamic
Cool-down = Static
