The CF Open Seperates Athletes

The 2015 CrossFit Open has become too big for itself. Having said that, I do think with the way Crossfit is going, we are looking more at the opportunity of seeing the sport grow into a professionalized sport. This means that there will be full time pros who DO NOT need to go through the Open. They will be part of the professionalized sport of Crossfit which will have 5 professional only events annually in different cities geographically with a 6th culmination event known as "the Open". The Open can then keep it's format by being just that, an Open competition and call to anyone who wants to participate in this tournament. In this way, Crossfit takes on a Cup Competition model that exists in soccer in European nations. You have your rogue underdog going up against the big professionals.
