Weight Training @ Any Age
The importance of weight training is often not fully understood. I love lifting heavy weights and I lift often(4-5 times a week). I want to stay strong and over time get stronger. Most people are just trying to lose weight. It seems like everyone starts out doing cardio type exercises. Treadmills are great for getting your heart beating and burning lots of calories. You will need to build your muscles mass up, if you want to keep those calories coming off. This is one reason working out with weights will put your weight loss goals into overdrive. Weight training doesn't have to be a painful program. Simple exercises which place some stress on the muscles is sufficient in helping maintain body weight at any age.
