CrossFit Games 2013 Rucksack Training

Saturday June 22nd Justin Allen and I hiked 5 miles at Turkey mountain, while wearing a 50lb vest and (2) 10lb dumbbells. I think the hardest part was the weight pulling on the traps. CrossFit Games 2013

If you intend to travel for an extended period with a pack, and you haven't used one previously, it's important to get used to the feel of it; and nothing will condition you for a heavy pack on the back better than actually experiencing it.
When you run with dumbbells, you incorporate their weight into the natural swing of your arms and your stride, but you also force your body to propel more weight with each step, which increases resistance on your arms and shoulders.
